International Social Innovation Resource Center

WHAT IS THE OBJETIVE?

RED Social Innovation is an international resource center for social innovation. With the support of the French Red Cross and the Spanish Red Cross, its objective is to test, scale and promote the social innovations created and developed within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, as well as those produced by public and private actors.

WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF?

The Spanish Red Cross, through the Social Technologies Foundation, TECSOS, and the French Red Cross, through 21, its Social Innovation Accelerator, have been committed to transforming their social impact through social and technological innovation for many years. . RED Social Innovation is an extension of this approach on an international scale.

In addition to the French Red Cross and the Spanish Red Cross, Red Social Innovation's partners are the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Solferino Movement Academy.

The objectives of RED Social Innovation are:

  1. Share good practices of transformation and social innovation with the largest number of people to be better prepared for future socioeconomic changes.
  2. Facilitate knowledge transfer between innovative National Societies and those in need of support.
  3. Support open and inclusive innovation through the exchange of methodologies, solutions, and results.
  4. Create synergies between associations, other actors within the Social and Solidarity Economy, and the private sector.

To achieve this, RED Social Innovation offers:

  1. Technical specifications that present innovative solutions in the social, medical-social and health fields. These articles are available in three languages: French, Spanish and English.
  2. a monthly newsletter customizable that offers a selection of the best publications on the platform.
  3. an annual publication containing the most innovative solutions developed within the Movement.

The platform has been active since March 2021 and new solutions are included weekly.

WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS?

In collaboration with the Stanford Social Innovation Review and the network of social entrepreneurs Ashoka, Red Social Innovation launches "45 minutes", a series of events to discover impactful solutions to the world's most pressing problems.
